Dr Claudio Strobbia

A natural entrepreneur with over 30 years of geophysics experience across the Energy industry, Claudio is the Founder, CEO and Chief Research Scientist at Realtimesiesmic (RTS). 

Claudio leads the development and application of advanced technologies and innovation in geoscience to commercially assist RTS’ valued clients.

He is a PhD qualified research and operations geoscientist, with broad interests in exploration seismology, exploration geophysics and earthquake seismology.

Prior to founding RTS, Claudio was the Global Land Processing specialist with Total Energies in Pau, France, following a Senior Research Geophysicist role with Schlumberger (SLB) stationed in Cairo and London. He also worked as a researcher for the EUCENTRE in Pavia (Italy) and as a lecturer in exploration seismology at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

As a solutions-orientated data geoscientist, Claudio enjoys exploring different fields, with a particular interest in challenging exploration data and land seismology.

His leading geoscience research (‪Claudio Strobbia – ‪Google Scholar) over the past 15 years focused on wave physics, inverse problems, signal processing, near-surface geophysics and seismic data acquisition and processing. Within exploration seismology, Claudio’s well-recognised contributions are in noise attenuation and near-surface characterisation. 

Claudio continues to make leading contributions to commercial and scientific advances in seismic acquisition, seismic data conditioning and processing, near-surface geophysics, and surface waves. He is passionate about mentoring and training the next generation of geoscientists.
